Welcome to the third PL INT review. We finally caught up to the league, so you can expect these posts to be published each tuesday. This week we had the PL INT derby between Revival and Legacy as well as some newcomers gaining their first points!
vs Clash of the season!
This game has history, and pretty big one as well. These derbies if I’m allowed to call them that are the biggest games of the season for both clubs. If we take a look at the history of this battle then we can see it’s even with both teams winning three games so far and drawing one. The last victory for Legacy was back in Season 15, it was a 5:4 for Legacy. So quite a while ago, Legacy will be out for revenge especially since these two teams are the top title contenders. It is also a battle between Doelpunten and Stefan. It was said Doelpunten who scored the 1:0 in the 7th minute in this important game. Revival kept possession for most of the game but couldn't use their chances. It seems to be theme this week that teams throw away leads in the last couple minutes of the game. This time it was a throw in from Legacy that led to the 1:1 by Thijmo in the 90th minute. I guess we will have to wait until a team makes a mistake or wins the 2nd REV v. LGY derby of this season! So far both teams are standing at 5-1-0 but Revival has the advantage with a goal difference of +27.
Downfall of Ukraine?
The goal spectacle for Ukraine had to stop or slow down at some point. We just didn't expect it to be this extreme. Instead of a classic 2:1 win to slow things down for Ukraine, they completely fell apart against Venom and Unshackled this week! Even though Ukraine is always good for a comeback, nobody gave them the chance to do so in the game vs Venom. Venom were 5:0 up after 25 minutes, which was too much even for a team like Ukraine. The game versus Unshackled looked a lot closer but something was missing from the Ukraine team that we knew and loved from week 1 & 2. They stuck to their usual 4231 but switched to a 352 after their 11:0 defeat versus Venom. Hopefully we will see Ukraine back in its usual form, entertaining the whole league!
Trempale makes it 2-0 for Venom after only 9 minutes. He got past his man with a fake shot, and drilled it across the keeper, into the top corner.
Azz puts in a 'hellish' performance!
Venom star striker Azz has found himself reaching an unusual milestone. This week saw Venom triumph in an emphatic 11-0 win against Ukraine. Before the match, Azz had not struck once this season, and was seemingly in a bit of a goal drought. He definitely silenced his critics in this match, scoring 6 times, and get 3 assists for his teammates. A worthy MVP performance. This means that he has now scored 6 times, got 6 assists, all in 6 games. 666. Looks like the deal with the devil paid off!
vs Repeat of Symphony disaster vs Unshackled?
It's revenge time! It’s the first time Symphony is facing Unshackled after their clash in the french league which ended sour for them and made them go out of CL spot, they are looking for some payback against Unshackled. The biggest challenge for Unshackled was to tame the french Symphony striker Rev3. He is Symphony’s biggest goal threat and also the french national striker, he is currently in 8th position in the goalscorer leaderboards of the PL INT. Unshackled did a pretty good job of containing the Striker until the last couple minutes. Even though Symphony had more shots at the UNS goal it was still 0:0 in the 80th minute. Crunch time. It was Unshackled who scored the first goal of the game in the 85th minute after a counter attack where RedSaman was clean through on goal and finished the attack from just outside the box. But as it seems, Unshackled haven’t solved their problems in the defense and once again conceded a goal in the last minute of a game. This time they weren’t able to defend against Rev3, who scored the 1:1 in the 90th minute. Maybe it is just french teams that are able to score against Unshackled in the last minutes of a game. We definitely hope so cause otherwise their problems will be bigger than they thought.
RedSaman celebrates in front of the Unshackled faithful, as he puts them up late on in their match against Symphony.
Point at last for Paramount?
Bottom of the league Paramount got themselves their first point of the season against newcomer Xzibit. Xzibit themselves have found life difficult in the PL INT, so this was perhaps the best chance for Paramount to get themselves on the board. Paramount chose to run with a more defensive 433, having learnt from their previous errors against Revival. Throughout the game it was Xzibit who were in charge. They dominated possession but just couldn’t get the ball past the resilient bot goalkeeper. When ZiggyStar broke the deadlock on the 73rd minute, it was clear a bit of magic was needed to get anything from the game. The rabbit was pulled out of the hat late on in the 87th minute, when Lior smashed the ball from just outside the box, off the crossbar and into the net. A sublime finish from him, and one that will hopefully spur Paramount on, to pick up more points and get themselves off that bottom spot.
We will release the weekly review every tuesday! We hope that enjoyed this weeks PL INT review.
